Many weddings from years gone-by led to this event… from Bury Court Barn up to The Temple Bar in London… and we had the past bride and grooms present to join in with the party.  It was a joint 40th for Mark and Josephine, in the Star and Garter pub in Putney.  Upon arrival, we quickly established the this was the smallest stage we had ever played on, so decided that we would go for a ‘2 onstage, 2 in front of stage format’… which actually worked well.  This gig was as the 4 piece band, with Holly as the fourth member – useful as they had requested Son Of A Preacher (Josephine’s dad was a priest, so it would have meaning to the five siblings present that night as well!)

We pushed on, and the crowd danced the night away, staying on the dance floor for the disco set.  For the final set, the energy levels seemed to rise even further, with a natural climax at the end… naturally on 500 Milers (for Mark and the other in P-Block??)

40th Birthday parties are some of the best to play – and this was no exception.  They were a great crowd, warm and welcoming, and a lovely vibe (and great to see bride and grooms of the past).  Happy birthday Mark and Josephine – best of luck in the future!

(Check out the closing bars of 500 Miles – Great crowd at the end of the night!… 1am)
