Thanks to band longtie friend – car enthusiast / top musician Walter Heale – we were recommended for this gig.  It was the last day of a week long event for the club, and upon our arrival (and after setup), we took the chance to browse the cars.  It was apparent that we would be playing to car enthusiasts… and the type that were true lovers of any cars pre 1939 (to define what a Vintage Sports Car is).

When we finally went on – after dinner and speeches – we stuck to the more classic tracks in the the set – the rock’n’roll going down a treat.  We had the full lineup of the 7 piece, which meant we could play the classics like Islands In The Stream, and 9-5 (with Holly singing), as well as a few Celtic tracks.. which had the guests energetically spinning across the dance floor.

By the end, they were calling out for more… and after an impromptu 2nd verse of Jerusalem from one of the guests (he may have been one of the organisers… we weren’t sure)… we finished with Daydream Believer.

They were a fun crowd, and it was great to play to a group of like minded people who have such a shared passion and love for vintage sports cars!  Hopefully see you all again for the 81st Anniversary!
