Vertikal Days is a trade event organised by Cranes and Access Magazine, at Haydock Park.  It was a return visit for the guys (our 3rd Vertikal Days to play), so we knew what we had in store.  With 800 guests, it was certainly a large crowd to play to.

Pre gig, Chris (drums) went up in an incredibly high cherry picker… he was shaking when he returned to ground level.  As always, the catering was top class, with tasty canopes at the start, a burger BBQ outside, and a stunning buffet.

We played to the crowds (about 98% men), who were very appreciative.  By the second set, when folk had loosened up, they took to the dance floor.  Apparently there was a good concentration of Irish folk, so we threw in the odd Celtic track, which went down well.  By the end, they were calling out for more, and we obliged, with the favourites.

It was a great event to play – lovely to chat to exhibitors who had seen us previous years.  The organisers, Lee and Leigh (Mrs and Mr) are a top couple, who have a real attention to detail – which is why the event is so successful.  Thanks for having us – hope the rest of the week went as well as the start!
