Happy Birthday Richard and Paola. Great location for a party – a huge farmers barn, with a big backdrop, lasers, smoke, cool lighting… tractors everywhere, porta-cabin for a green room – sun setting over the fields. A true barn dance party… without the barn dance!
After speeches, we hit the stage with Happy Birthday… followed by a set suited to the crowd – who threw themselves into the party headlong. We had Holly joining us on vocals, so we could play such faves as Son Of A Preacher and Islands in The Stream… and with Jason on fiddle, we could play a couple of great ‘fiddle-tunes’ – giving people a chance to try out their Irish dancing.
It was a great party to play – always an honour and pleasure to be part of such private and personal events… seeing a whole crowd of friends just letting their hair down! We made to feel very welcome throughout – top food and hospitality. Hopefully see you guys soon – once again, happy birthday!
